ABOUT '' Tails Go Trails''
Fun walks for your dog.
Your furry friend is part of your family, keeping your dog safe and happy on a walk is my first priority, they'll be exercised well on their walk and have lots of fun.
Dogs with good recall will enjoy 'off lead' walks (with owner consent), those with 'not so good recall' can still enjoy the freedom of a walk whilst being kept on a long training line for their safety. Occasionally if it is found a larger breed dog is an excessive 'puller' then for the safety of the handler and other dogs it might be your dog can only be walked on a 'solo' walk. I can work with an owner on this by passing on details of local dog trainers who can help. Once a dog has successfully completed training they can be added to a 'group' walk.
I will take a maximum of 4 dogs on a group walk, and will ensure they are suitably matched. Walks will last around 60 mins. Your dog(s) will generally be out for a bit longer as I collect and drop off any other dog(s) in my care.
Van time is minimal as I keep the areas I cover quite small, because of this dogs are not kept in the van for a long period of time.
To ensure your dog travels safely and in comfort, my van is ventilated and has custom built-in crates lined with vet bedding.
To avoid a 'muddy paws trail' after a wet walking day your dog will be given a good rub down to dry them off as much as possible. As off lead walks are full of enrichment such as playing in a meadow, going into streams and having a swim (when safe) although your dog will be 'mud' free, they may still be damp/wet on return.
After drop off and once your dog is settled, I will refill their water bowl with fresh cold water and check your home is securely locked up before I leave.
An initial consultation (no charge) will be arranged prior to walking your dog, this allows an opportunity to meet with you and your furry friend to discuss your needs and requirements.
I have a DBS and am fully insured as a dog walker and pet sitter, and I have undertaken an ITC accredited Dog First Aid course (ITC first aid course held at The Dog & Cat Home, Edinburgh).

Having worked in healthcare for over 20 years, I needed a change!
I’ve always had dog(s) in my life, mostly rescue pups that have come my way for various reasons that I adopted or fostered. So I decided to pursue something that I love, quite simply this is to walk dog(s).
Why?
Because I love the outdoors come rain, sun, wind or snow and most importantly because I am passionate about dogs and love being outside with them.
Having ‘doggy’ and ‘moggy’ minded family, friends and neighbours pets over many, many years I became known as the ‘go to person’ when anyone needed their family pet looked after or walked.
Starting a dog walking and pet home care service as a business was a natural way forward, where work is now a job I get great satisfaction from.
I was very lucky to have had a great dog walker when I lived and worked in Edinburgh, I knew what I wanted for my dogs, someone who had a genuine love for dogs, was reliable, trustworthy, and where dog walks were a full 50-60 mins in length, and that is what you’ll get with me.
Your dog is your family, and to entrust them into the care of someone else is a responsibility I take very seriously. Dogs in my care will be supervised at all times, kept on a lead, unless they have good recall and where their owner asks for an 'off lead' walk.
I lost my companion of 17 years in 2022, she will always be part of me as will all my previous dogs.
Later that year in a moment of ‘madness’ I got 2 Irish Red x Gordon setter pups, they will be 2 in May and true to breed type, they are bright, funny, daft, great with people especially children and just a joy to be around.
Yvonne is the most amazing person to take care of your pup baby’s, our 2 Lhasa Apso's had a fantastic time in her care!! Got loads of photo updates on their walks and was great to see the amazing scenery they were in and how happy pups were , came home very happy and quietly tired 5*

My two Romanian rescue dogs Michael and Dobby both LOVE YVONNE....they leap to the door so excited to be going out with her every morning. Yvonne has been such a help to me during my recovery from surgery when I could not walk them myself.
My dogs mean everything to me and were reluctant to go out with family members when I first became infirm....no such reluctance with Yvonne.....after first walk with her they were both leaping out the door. BIG THANK YOU YVONNE for all your kindness above an beyond!!

I can't recommend Yvonne enough. She has such a passion for dogs and my Shih-Poo Buzz just loves her and is so excited for his walk every morning.
It's so clear she really takes the time to get to know all of the dogs she walks and understands their different needs and character traits.
If you're looking for a dog walker in the Linlithgow / Bo'ness area Yvonne is the best x
